Top 10 best 5G smartphones launch in 2020
1. Samsung Galaxy S20 5G, Galaxy S20+ 5G, and Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G
Samsung’s first set of flagships is expectedly powered by 5G enabled chipsets. In the U.S., the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and Galaxy S20 Ultra are powered by Snapdragon 865 octa-core chipset with discrete X55 modem that supports 5G NR sub-6 (both SA and NSA) and mmWave.
In other regions, the Galaxy S20 troika employs Exynos 990 with Exynos Modem 5123 that supports NSA and SA 5G. The Exynos 5G modem is missing mmWave support, but that’s fine since Samsung would launch the Exynos variant only in regions where mmWave deployment isn’t on the cards. In India, S20-series will only support LTE for now.
The new Samsung flagships boast of impressive camera hardware and other impressive features like LPDDR5 RAM, 45W fast charging, and 120Hz refresh rate screens.

2. OnePlus 8 Pro 5G and OnePlus 8 5G
OnePlus 8-series phones – 8 Pro and 8 – are both 5G ready and are both available in India. The Pro model entails additional perks like Wireless charging, IP68 water, and dust resistance, better camera hardware, and better display. The 8, on the other hand, is relatively more manageable.
Both of these phones have the same core performance hardware – Snapdragon 865 backed by UFS 3.0 storage and LPDDR5 RAM. In India, the OnePlus 8 Pro and OnePlus 8 starts at Rs. 54,999 and Rs. 41,999, respectively.
3. Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro 5G and Xiaomi Mi 10 5G
Xiaomi’s first Snapdragon 865 phones – Mi 10 Pro and Mi 10 – are both 5G ready and will be coming to India in 2020. These phones also have 108MP primary rear cameras, LPDDR5 RAM, Wi-Fi 6, and 6.67” AMOLED screen with a 90Hz refresh rate.
The Mi 10 Pro 5G and Mi 10 5G house their selfie snappers in a punch-hole cutout within the display. Xiaomi has confirmed that it will be bringing these phones to India, but they will follow a different pricing model (which is to say that they won’t be priced aggressively).
Other Xiaomi 5G phones worth checking out are Redmi K30 Pro 5G, Redmi K30 Racing Edition, and Redmi 10X.
4. iQOO 3 5G
iQOO 3 5G (review) is a heavily armed handset that brandishes cutting-edge performance hardware including Snapdragon 865 octa-core chipset, LPDDR5 RAM, and UFS 3.1 storage.
This is the first iQOO phone in India and one of the first 5G phones in the country (top variant only). As with all SD 865 phones, the 5G part is handled by discreet X55 modem. Other highlights include a punch-hole display, 64MP quad-rear cameras, and Android 10-based software.
5. Realme X50 Pro 5G and X50 5G
Realme X50 5G was officially announced on January 7 in China as the brand’s first 2020 flagship. The X50 Pro 5G was also the first 5G phone in India. The X50 Pro 5G is powered by Snapdragon 865 octa-core chipset and supports 50W VOOC fast charging.
The Realme X50 5G is the first Realme phone powered by Snapdragon 765 octa-core chipset. The handset includes a punch-hole display and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
6. Motorola Edge Plus
Edge+ is Motorola’s return to the flagship territory. Thus, it bags the high-end specs like Snapdragon 865, 5G (of course), a large 108MP main camera sensor, and a 5000mAh battery.
Those curved edges feature Edge Lighting for notifications, battery status, alarms. You can swipe up or down on the edge to quickly switch apps and check notifications. While gaming in landscape mode, you can use the two customizable buttons at the top and bottom as shoulder triggers.

Both the Oppo Reno 4 Pro 5G and Oppo Reno 4 5G have 5G support, thanks to the Snapdragon 765G chipset.
Software is Android 10 based Color OS 7.2. They sport swanky displays with punch holes for selfie camera(s), and a 48MP triple camera set up by the back. The vanilla Reno 4 packs an 8MP ultrawide sensor with 119° Ultra Wide Lens and a 2MP monochrome lens. Meanwhile, the Pro has better optics viz. a 12MP ultrawide snapper with 120° FoV and a 13MP telephoto lens with a 5x hybrid zoom and 20x digital zoom.
Oppo also launched a slew of 5G phones under the second generation Find X-series. These include Find X2 Pro 5G, Find X2 5G, Find X2 Neo 5G, and Find X2 Lite 5G. Most of these are available in Europe and are a tad too expensive.
8. Vivo X50 Pro+, Vivo X50 Pro and Vivo X50

12. Nokia 8.3 5G
Nokia 8.3 5G has been developed to support 5G in all markets which, according to HMD global, makes it first of its kind. The specs are comparable to most midrange phones, which is also why the 600 Euros price feels way to steep.
The Nokia 8.3 5g is powered by Snapdragon 765G, has a 4500mAh battery with 18W fast charging support, and has an array of rear cameras with a 64MP sensor in the lead. Another plus point is stock Android software and the fact that Nokia has a good track record with updates.
